Original painting by © Mark Hess for a Time magazine cover article about the plight of the small farmer in America. This painting garnered lots of attention. Turns out the local farmer used as the cover model was quite successful and wealthy, and the AP ran a wire story about Time using a 'rich' farmer to portray failed ones. Apologies were made.
